Our groundbreaking perception-based risk assessment program, the first of its kind, provides the most comprehensive data stream available for risk analysis and monitoring and has proven to significantly reduce accidents in some of the world's most hazardous occupations.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Claims Program Supervisor to play a critical role in building and managing our best-in-class workers' compensation claims program. You will be instrumental in overseeing our external claims management partners and driving superior outcomes for injured workers while ensuring cost-effectiveness for our employers and CompScience. This role requires a proactive leader who can develop and implement innovative claims strategies within a multi-state/national scope, ensuring our partners and policyholders adhere to the highest standards of claims management.
Responsibilities
-

Oversee and manage relationships with external workers' compensation claims administrators, including insurance partners and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) across multiple states.
Conduct regular audits of external claims management operations to ensure adherence to best practices and service level agreements.
Monitor and analyze partner performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action plans
-
Best Practice Development & Implementation:
Develop, implement, and refine best practices for workers' compensation claims management, focusing on efficient processes, proactive communication, and optimal claim outcomes.
Ensure that both internal stakeholders and external partners consistently apply these best practices.
-
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as a primary point of communication for internal management, supervisors, and external claims examiners regarding claims management strategies, performance, and complex claim escalations.
Act as a dedicated advocate for both claims examiners and policyholders, fostering clear and effective communication to resolve issues and ensure a transparent process.
-
Employer Advocacy & Consultation:
Proactively communicate with employers to promote and ensure the adoption of claims management best practices, such as immediate reporting of claims, effective return-to-work/light-duty programs, and participation in periodic claims reviews.
Educate policyholders on strategies to manage claims effectively and reduce overall claims costs.
-
Performance & Outcome Optimization:
Drive initiatives aimed at achieving best-in-class claims management, focusing on delivering positive outcomes for injured workers while minimizing costs for employers and CompScience.
Analyze claims data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for program enhancement.
Required Experience
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field, coupled with 5-7+ years of experience in workers' compensation claims management, preferably in a multi-state or national environment. Relevant professional designations (e.g., AIC, ARM, CPCU) are a plus.
Demonstrate proven experience in overseeing and managing Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and/or insurance carrier claims departments, along with the ability to develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive claims management programs and initiatives.
Exhibit a thorough understanding of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and claims best practices, including effective strategies for timely claim reporting, medical management, and return-to-work programs.
Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in claims auditing and performance analysis, and maintain proficiency with claims management systems and data analysis tools.
Display excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement and influence with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, and possess a proven ability to advocate effectively for both policyholders and claims examiners.
