QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA- ONSITE
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all quality assurance and aircraft conformity requirements. You will oversee inspection schedules, supplier quality processes, and regulatory documentation while partnering closely with internal teams and external airworthiness representatives. This role requires a proven ability to drive quality improvements, lead audits, and maintain a robust Quality Management System. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant aerospace products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and maintain records for aircraft conformity, quality documentation, and certification reporting.
- Develop and manage inspection schedules for parts, kits, documentation, and test articles to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate activities with Designated Airworthiness Representatives (DARs) and Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) to support inspections and certifications
- Support the VP of Certification and Sr. Director, Quality in responding to FAA requests and audits.
- Lead internal and supplier audits to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards; track findings and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor supplier quality performance, lead supplier qualification and oversight activities, and support supplier development programs.
- Develop and track quality metrics, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement across engineering and production processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and reliability from design through delivery.
- Provide training and guidance to teams on quality standards, processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Support ongoing improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with regulatory and customer expectations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, supplier quality, or conformity inspection in the aerospace industry
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulatory requirements
- Experience conducting audits, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
- Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering discipline
- Experience working in a startup environment
- Experience in Aerospace Quality Management, or other related field
- Project or office management experience

The posted salary range reflects the potential base pay for this role, adjusted to account for varying geographic markets. Final compensation will be based on factors such as your location, job-related skills, experience, and internal alignment, including equity and benefits.
